B3 Introduces Options on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana Futures

B3, Brazil’s largest stock exchange, has added options contracts based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana futures. The options settle into the underlying futures contracts, eliminating the need for token custody or transfer. This move expands regulated crypto derivatives in Latin America.

B3, Brazil's main exchange, has expanded its product suite to include options on three major crypto futures. The launch marks the first time Latin America's biggest stock exchange offers regulated options on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

The new contracts are based on the exchange's existing futures for BTC, ETH, and SOL. Settlement occurs against the futures, so no physical tokens are transferred or held by investors.

By using futures as the underlying, B3 sidesteps custody and administrative challenges that often accompany spot crypto options. The structure also aligns with regulatory expectations for transparency and risk management.

Market participants can now use these options to hedge exposure or speculate on price movements of the three cryptocurrencies within a regulated environment. The product is available to both institutional and retail clients who meet B3's eligibility criteria.

The introduction of crypto options is part of Brazil's broader effort to deepen its financial market infrastructure and attract global capital. Analysts note that the move could increase liquidity and attract more sophisticated traders to the Brazilian market.
