Bitcoin Cash Node released BCHN 29.1.0 as a minor update with no network-rule changes. The release focuses on RPC behavior, operational settings and performance, and the project recommends that users running 29.0.0 or older upgrade to the new version.
`bitcoin-cli` now supports a `-rpcwaittimeout` argument that sets a maximum wait time when `-rpcwait` is used. If the timeout expires, the command reports a failure instead of waiting indefinitely. The change is useful for automated startup and node health-check workflows.
The `createwallet` RPC can now create an encrypted wallet directly when a non-empty passphrase is supplied. Default RPC capacity was also raised: `-rpcthreads` increases from 4 to 16 and `-rpcworkqueue` from 16 to 64, giving node operators more concurrency before custom tuning is required.
Because 29.1.0 does not introduce consensus or network changes, its main impact is operational rather than protocol-level. Even so, BCHN explicitly encourages the upgrade, so Bitcoin Cash node operators should review the new RPC defaults and confirm that their own automation, limits and monitoring remain appropriate.
