SmartContractKit has released Chainlink node v2.64.0 with several changes relevant to node operators and pipeline developers. The release adds experimental Anchor, Normalize, Sample, Staleness and WeightedMean tasks to the pipeline package. They expand the available pipeline primitives, although their experimental status means users should account for possible follow-up changes.
Another addition is durable caching for OrgResolver owner-to-orgID mappings. The cache is backed by Postgres and is enabled by default through CRE.Linking.DurableCacheEnabled. That moves the relevant mapping state into persistent storage and changes how the CRE linking component can retain data across restarts.
The most significant breaking change is the removal of Chainlink Automation from the node. The OCR2 plugin type ocr2automation is no longer supported, which means job specs using pluginType = ocr2automation now fail validation. Related Automation telemetry types and the OCR2.CaptureAutomationCustomTelemetry configuration field have also been removed.
Migration 0305 drops the evm_upkeep_states table, while chaincli and related Automation and log-poller E2E suites are removed from the codebase. That makes v2.64.0 more than a routine feature release: operators should check existing Automation job specs and any dependencies on the removed components before upgrading. Official container images are published with digests and cosign verification instructions.
