Ripple has received a full crypto‑asset provider license in Luxembourg, upgrading its earlier preliminary approval. The new status confirms the company’s compliance with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets Regulation (MiCA).
MiCA sets out rules for issuers, exchanges and service providers, covering payments, custody and other financial services. Full compliance allows Ripple to operate across all 30 EEA member states without additional national authorisations.
With the upgrade, Ripple can now offer its payment and settlement solutions to banks, corporates and other financial institutions throughout the EEA. The move expands the reach of its XRP‑based infrastructure for cross‑border transactions.
The regulatory environment for crypto assets in Europe has been evolving rapidly, with MiCA aiming to provide a single framework for the sector. Ripple’s compliance demonstrates the company’s commitment to meeting stringent regulatory standards.
The approval follows a preliminary license granted earlier in 2026, and it positions Ripple as a fully authorised provider under MiCA. The company will continue to monitor regulatory developments and adjust its services accordingly.
