XRPLF, the organization that maintains the XRP Ledger, has pushed a new version of its reference server software, xrpld, to 3.4.0. The update is available as DEB and RPM packages and can also be built from source. The release includes several protocol amendments and bug fixes aimed at improving ledger stability and feature set.

The most notable change is the introduction of the LendingProtocolV1_1 amendment. This amendment expands the existing LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault features by adding closed‑ended vaults, which have a defined lifecycle of subscription, investment, and redemption. It also implements cash‑basis accounting, meaning that interest income is recognized only when payments are actually received, replacing the previous instant interest recognition model.

In addition to the new amendment, xrpld 3.4.0 retires the AMMOverflowOffer amendment. Once retired, the amendment becomes a permanent part of the protocol, removing the need for future gating and simplifying the ledger’s amendment set.

The new version is distributed through the XRPLF package repository at packages.xrplf.org, with packages signed by the XRPLF key. Operators can download the appropriate DEB or RPM for their platform or follow the installation guide on the XRPL website. The release notes also include a commit that bumps the version to 3.4.0.

XRPLF recommends that anyone running an XRP Ledger server upgrade to 3.4.0 immediately to ensure continued service and to benefit from the new lending features. The updated server also contains various bug fixes and build improvements that enhance overall performance and security.
