Monero released v0.18.5.1 Fluorine Fermi as a recommended software update with a broad set of fixes. The version contains 102 commits from 13 contributors and touches daemon networking, wallets, RPC, ZMQ, mining and the RandomX integration.
Daemon fixes include slow shutdown with Tor or I2P enabled, unsafe pidfile truncation, approximate blockchain-height handling, block-weight processing and duplicate-transaction handling. A use-after-free in txpool pruning is fixed, along with improvements to incoming-block scanning and remote-host checks.
ZMQ now caps aggregate receive size, while `get_transaction_pool` applies restricted-mode privacy filtering. Wallet hardening includes defenses against malicious remote nodes, correct persistence of multisig nonce erasure and additional trusted-daemon checks in Wallet RPC.
RandomX is updated to v1.2.2, and memory leaks are fixed in readline and the Windows RandomX integration. The release also contains miner-path changes and a wide range of regression fixes. It is primarily a maintenance and hardening update, making RPC, Tor/I2P and ZMQ behavior useful areas for operators to verify after upgrading.
