Monero released GUI 0.18.5.2 Fluorine Fermi as a point update for the desktop wallet. Its main fix addresses wallet creation during first use, correcting behavior in the initial generation flow that could affect users setting up a new wallet.
The release also adds a warning when KDF rounds are adjusted. That parameter affects the computational cost of password-based derivation, so the interface now makes the change more explicit. Precision loss when generating payment requests with large amounts has been fixed as well.
The setup wizard now creates wallets in memory in the relevant flow instead of relying on unnecessary intermediate disk handling. The release includes additional minor fixes and links to the complete change list on GitHub. Six contributors produced 50 commits for this version.
Separate binaries are published for Windows, macOS and Linux, while canonical SHA256 hashes are available through Monero’s signed hash list. This is a GUI maintenance release rather than a separate protocol hard fork: it changes wallet behavior, not the network’s consensus rules.
