The Litecoin Foundation highlighted a Nexus Wallet update that adds gift-card purchases with LTC directly inside the application. Users do not need to leave the wallet for a separate browser flow, expanding the set of everyday spending scenarios available from a self-custodial Litecoin app.
The new function builds on features Nexus Wallet already supports. The app can send, receive and store LTC, provides opt-in MWEB privacy, supports Tor for additional network privacy, includes manual coin selection and integrates Pay with Flexa for purchases across participating retail locations.
Gift-card purchases can use Litecoin as the payment asset, and transactions routed through MWEB can shield amounts and addresses from ordinary public visibility. That does not make every wallet transaction private by default: MWEB remains an opt-in Litecoin transaction mode.
The release is a product-layer change rather than a Litecoin consensus or protocol upgrade. It adds another payment endpoint to the wallet and tests whether a more integrated spending flow can reduce the friction between holding LTC and using it for real-world purchases.
